We are a small agency by choice.

With extensive research experience across a wide range of subject matters and settings, we offer support across social research, market research and workplace / employee research. 

We can run projects end to end or assist with discreet parts of the research process. 

We work directly with end clients or provide contract based services to research agencies as an overflow or specialist resource.

 Blue Horizon Research founder and director, John Lipscomb, began his career in research in 1999, when he left the banking sector to complete Honors by research and gain a scholarship to enter Deakin University’s PhD program. 

Between 1999 and 2016 John worked in a wide variety of research roles, across academic, private and not for profit sectors. Over this time his research has included hundreds of quantitative and qualitative projects across consumer, public health and social research. Research John has driven and been involved with has contributed to positive outcomes for major corporations, not for profit organisations and in public health policy development. 

In 2016, feeling burned out and seeking a quieter lifestyle, John moved away from research as part of a sea change to the Bass Coast area.

Several years to refresh and reflect, as well as pro-bono work conducted for a social enterprise reignited Johns passion for research and highlighted his competence in developing and communicating insights. 

John's move back into research began in 2020 with pro-bono work for a social enterprise. This work grew into a full re-entry to the field of research in mid 2021.
